Dear Readers,
What happens when robots are no longer just prototypes in research laboratories, but are confronted with sweat, flying sparks, and real steel? This is exactly what we are currently seeing at Hyundai's shipyards, where German and Korean engineering expertise come together. This step is more than just a technological experiment: it is a glimpse into a future in which cognitive machines do not replace human labor, but go where it is dangerous and skilled workers are hard to find.
In this issue, we take you on a journey into this new world: from humanoid robots doing real work in shipbuilding to the latest translation models from China to debates about whether robot dogs are more of a burden or a security risk. We also take a look at what Bill Gates thinks about the future of programming and why Yann LeCun is convinced that AGI needs more than just bigger models. A journey through innovation, industry, and the open questions of our time—read on and discover how close the future has become.
In Today’s Issue:
Humanoid robots are officially coming to shipyards
This tiny robot dog can carry some seriously heavy loads
A major security flaw in one of the most popular robot dogs
And more AI goodness…
All the best,

Robots in shipbuilding: Hyundai and NEURA make it possible
The Takeaway
👉 NEURA provides cognitive platform (“4NE-1”) for humanoid robotics in real shipyard scenarios.
👉 HD Hyundai Samho offers practical test environments and field validation – directly in the work area.
👉 HD Hyundai Robotics contributes path learning data and welding automation expertise.
👉 Result: AI robots could fill skills gaps and enable safer and more efficient work processes. Momentum for industrial automation is currently building.
The first image immediately brings to mind a dog on two legs, sweating away in a shipyard. NEURA Robotics from Germany is currently involved in a strategic pact with HD Hyundai Samho and HD Hyundai Robotics, which aims to bring the next generation of humanoid and quadrupedal robots to shipyard floors.

More specifically, NEURA contributes its cognitive robotics expertise with the humanoid “4NE-1,” HD Hyundai Samho provides real-world testing environments at its shipyard, and HD Hyundai Robotics supplies path learning data and welding automation expertise.
The added value is obvious: in an industry with a drastic shortage of skilled workers, cognitive robots take on dangerous, repetitive tasks – and keep productivity and safety high.
Overall, it's a rare clear picture: here, AI meets an industry with real problems – and real solutions emerge from the interaction. Where does the machine end – and the human begin – and how do we rebalance the scales?

Why it matters: This alliance demonstrates how AI and robotics are not only fascinating, but also have real industrial relevance—especially where there is a shortage of skilled workers. It could mark a turning point for intelligent, safe, and efficient shipyard work.

Tencent released Hunyuan-MT-7B and Hunyuan-MT-Chimera
The Hunyuan Translation Model comprises a translation model, Hunyuan-MT-7B, and an ensemble model, Hunyuan-MT-Chimera. The translation model is used to translate source text into the target language, while the ensemble model integrates multiple translation outputs to produce a higher-quality result. It primarily supports mutual translation among 33 languages, including five ethnic minority languages in China.

Unitree's robot dog can carry up to 250 kg, setting new records. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is its use in the military, where this robot can carry heavy loads.
Go1 Robot Rog Cybersecurity Statement from Unitree
Researchers/bloggers flagged a backdoor in the Go1 robot. Unitree dug into it and confirmed a vulnerability. Essentially, hackers got hold of the management key for the third‑party cloud tunnel (used by Go1) and used it to gain top‑level access to users’ machines—think: control of the robot and video access.
