Dear Readers,

Every week, the frontier moves again. This time, it’s not just software getting smarter, it’s matter itself learning to think. NVIDIA unveiled NVQLink, fusing GPUs with quantum processors; OpenAI laid out a concrete path to superintelligence by 2028; and Google joined the game with Pomelli, an AI that can design your next marketing campaign from scratch. The edges between thought, computation, and creation are starting to blur—and the pace is breathtaking.

All the best,

Google launches Pomelli AI tool

Has Google just killed all creative and marketing start-ups? Pomelli is a new AI-powered marketing tool from Google Labs in partnership with DeepMind, aimed at helping small-to-medium businesses rapidly produce on-brand social media campaigns. It analyzes your website to build a “Business DNA” profile (tone, colors, fonts, imagery), then proposes campaign ideas and generates marketing assets you can edit and download.

PayPal + ChatGPT: Checkout Revolution

PayPal has struck a strategic partnership with OpenAI to embed its digital wallet into ChatGPT, enabling users to move seamlessly from “chat” to “checkout” inside the AI interface. The deal also allows PayPal’s global merchant network to become discoverable and sell within ChatGPT, turning the AI-chat platform into a potential commerce gateway.

Over a Million ChatGPT Users Self-Harm

Some sad numbers: OpenAI reports that more than 1 million weekly users of ChatGPT engage in conversations showing explicit indications of suicidal planning or intent (about 0.15 % of a weekly active user base of ~800 million). Additionally, around 0.07 % (≈ 560 000 users) show possible signs of psychosis or mania.

OpenAI Update and Q&A with Sam Altman and Pachocki

OpenAI Maps Path to Superintelligence

The Takeaway

👉 OpenAI targets AI research interns by 2026 and fully autonomous researchers by 2028

👉 Altman believes Deep Learning alone could achieve superintelligence within a decade

👉 Roughly $1.4 trillion has already gone into datacenter build-outs, with plans to hit 1 GW factories per week, accelerating global AI capacity.

👉 Model costs have dropped 40×, paving the way for democratized AI access and faster iteration cycles.

What an evening! In a bold strategic shift, OpenAI formally moved from its original nonprofit roots toward a for-profit (or hybrid) structure, targeting greater-scale investment and growth. Speculation has also mounted around whether OpenAI will pursue an IPO. According to reports, while an initial public offering is possible: “OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said in a call Tuesday that “the most likely path” for the newly formed business is that it becomes publicly traded on the stock market"

Later that evening, OpenAI held a livestream. CEO Sam Altman and Chief Scientist Jakub Pachocki gave an outlook on the future of OpenAI – and provided some deep insights.

OpenAI plans to introduce automated AI research interns by September 2026, followed by fully autonomous AI researchers by March 2028—a milestone Altman described as the point when “science will be completely AI-automated.” Both leaders expressed strong confidence that Deep Learning alone could lead humanity to superintelligence within ten years, calling the outlook “very bright.” They revealed that around $1.4 trillion has already been invested in global datacenter infrastructure, with plans to ramp up to 1 GW-scale factories per week, bringing the once-unthinkable $7 trillion goal within reach. While internal models are not yet vastly superior to public releases, Pachocki noted that scaling laws are holding and that a massive leap in model quality is expected by late 2026. Model costs, Altman added, have dropped by a factor of 40 and continue to fall. OpenAI also acknowledged that automation will likely transform labor markets, possibly leading to widespread job displacement, even as new AI-driven fields emerge.

Why it matters: Because OpenAI’s timeline implies that AI may soon shift from assisting research to conducting it independently. It also shows the roadmap for AGI and ASI, and more importantly, Sam Altman is confident that these goals can soon be achieved through deep learning.

Quantum Meets GPU With NVQLink

NVIDIA just unveiled NVQLink, a breakthrough interconnect bridging quantum processing units (QPUs) and GPUs for real-time collaboration. With latency as low as four microseconds, it allows seamless CUDA-Q calls, unlocking hybrid quantum-classical workflows once deemed impossible. It’s the missing link that could accelerate the race toward practical quantum computing.

Factories Go Smart With “Physical AI”

NVIDIA just launched a major push into industrial automation—rolling out its “Mega Omniverse Blueprint” for factory-scale digital twins and robotics so manufacturers can simulate, monitor and optimize entire production lines in real time.

U.S. Builds Massive AI Supercomputer Together

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), NVIDIA and Oracle Corporation are teaming up to build the DOE’s largest-ever AI supercomputer — the “Solstice” system with 100,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, plus “Equinox” with 10,000 GPUs, delivering a combined 2,200 exaflops of AI performance. These systems, located at Argonne National Laboratory, aim to super-charge scientific discovery — from healthcare to materials science — by enabling “agentic AI” workflows for public research.
